An inspiring talk by the wonderful Chris Sperring at a meeting of ‘Wild Portishead’ tonight. From unmown dandelions to garden brambles, from hornets to the brown rat, it turns out nothing is too small or lowly to provide food or a home for other species. Just as inspirational was the sheer volume of people present. Discussions ranged from putting swift boxes on houses to leaving parts of lawns unmown. Turns out no person is too small or lowly to make a difference either….
